Speaking of the bluff, the 140 foot cliff offers a challenge for experienced climbers. If this is your kind of sport, be sure to bring along your own ropes and safety equipment since it is not available on the island. The Bluff on Cayman Brac The bluff on Cayman Brac is riddled with caves of many sizes. Most are not difficult to negotiate and require little specialized training or gear. Several of these caves are located a short distance from The Breakers.
There are rumors that pirates hid buried treasure in the caves and that
some had been found. Peter's Cave located on the northeast side of the
island can be accessed from Little Light House Road on top of the bluff.
From the road below, follow the steps carved into the limestone up to the
cave. New concrete steps and hand rails have been added for easier access.
There are fantastic panoramic views of the town below and ocean views on
the way up to the cave. |
